With the mainstream media continuing to pursue (with the encouragement of some
Democratic party insiders) its “anyone but Bernie” strategy, my impulse was to demand that Warren, Buttigieg and Klobuchar need to drop out and endorse Bernie. Then I realized that the losing candidates, except for unlimited money Mike
“Stop ‘n’ Frisky” Bloomberg, are irrelevant.
It’s we the voters who decide. It’s our endorsement that matters, and we are
choosing Sanders. The Nevada Caucus
process revealed that Sanders is not only the first choice but the second
choice of Democratic voters.
As Jesse Jackson recently put it, “what
Sanders represents is not the left-wing. It’s the moral center. Healthcare for
everybody is moral. Education even for the poor without student loan debt is
the moral center. Middle East policy where you recognize Israel and Palestine
is the moral center.”
In this election, voters are paying attention
like never before. We have our own
sources of information. We are not
dependent on the outrageous statements of MSNBC and CNN “commentators.” It is US who need to endorse Bernie Sanders
as the only candidate who can beat Donald Trump, institute campaign finance
reform, and restore this country’s middle class and economic security.
